Obituary for Margaret Anne Champagne (Kiefert)

Margaret Anne Champagne (nee Kiefert)age 81, was born to eternal life January 15th, 2015. She passed away peacefully with family by her side. Margaret was born September 14th, 1933 to Henry and Anne Kiefert in Green Leaf, Wisconsin.

Margaret was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 23 years Gerald Champagne,Sisters Magdeline (Gilbert) Beauleau, Ruby (Norbert) Romnek, and Brother Bernard (Audrey) Spearmider.

Survived by her three Daughters Wende Warren, Jennifer Warren, and Annette. Loving and devoted Grandmother to Cassandra Warren, Heather (Ian) Emmons, Joshua Martinez, and Kristin LaBine. Margaret especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and they brought her much joy. Also survived by her brother Howard (Odile) Kiefert, and many other dear relatives and great friends.

In the 1950's Margaret studied at Stevens Point where she majored in journalism. She was a reporter at various newspapers and enjoyed teaching piano to children. Margaret was a very loving and giving person who spent many years assisting others as a home health aide.

She was known by others for her tireless energy,determination, kind-heartedness, and great sense of humor. Margaret's faith and dedication led her to be a very active member of Sts. Peter and Paul Polish National Catholic Church. She devoted her time and passion to publicity and fundraising for the church. Margaret enjoyed her time spent as a Member at both the Grobschmidt and Kelly senior centers. Margaret was not one to sit and watch life pass her by. She was a social butterfly, always on the go, and remained high spirited. She also enjoyed traveling with friends and family, and visiting new places.

She will be remembered and greatly missed by family and many great friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday January 24th from 9-11am at Sts. Peter and Paul Polish National Catholic Church located at 1308 15th Avenue, South Milwaukee, WI, with mass to follow at 11am. Father Bogumil Czaja officiating. Burial at Forest Hill cemetery is where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Gerald. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grobschmidt Senior Center, 2424 15th Avenue, South Milwaukee, WI 53172.
