Passed away on October 3, 2015 at the age of 90. Doris was born July 31, 1925 to her parents Arthur and Jenny Basterash and was married on June 23, 1945 to her loving husband John for 68 years prior to his passing. The Family rejoices in her heavenly reunion with her parents and husband and other loved ones who preceded her.

Doris is survived by her children: John A (Lynne Richards) Reusser, Melanie (James) Marek, Cheryl (Daniel) Fax, Heidi (Andrew) Skowronski. Grandchildren: Daniel Fax, Kate Plaskey, Bradley Fax, Arthur Marek, Alexander Marek, Demi Hansen, Jorden Skowronski, Madison Skowronski – 11 Great-Grandchildren – her two sisters Arlene Placko and Carol Reed - sister-in-laws Marion Kuechle and Marilyn Reusser – and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by brother Lawrence Basterash. Doris was a beloved member of the South Milwaukee community where she was born and schooled and raised her family. She touched everyone that knew her with her smile, humor, and wit. Doris knew everyone and everyone knew Doris. Doris was active in politics and community service and also assisted in family support working at many different craft stores, bakeries, and retail stores - eventually retiring from Kohls after 12 years of service. Doris was a great seamstress and quilter and her children and grandchildren are blessed with the memories of her love expressed through these handmade gifts. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Doris's honor to the Alzheimer's Association.
