Andrew was born in Los Angeles, California in 1921. During WWII, he spent three years at the Heart Mountain Relocation Camp. After the war, he moved to the Midwest where he met and married Irene. They and their five children spent many years in South Milwaukee where he was a loving father, Cub Scout master and Boy Scout leader.

Andrew retired from Ladish Company after 35 years of service as a member of the Grand Lodge of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He was a parishioner of St. John’s-now Divine Mercy-Catholic Church for 55 years. He also was a lifelong member of the Japanese American Citizens League.

Andrew was a man of many interests and hobbies including photography, model railroading, and stamp collecting. He loved SciFi, was a follower of Dr. Who through many regenerations, enjoyed English drama, Boston Pops and classical music. He will be remembered as being a gentleman, quiet, kind and meticulously detail oriented.

He is the beloved husband of the late Irene. He is preceded in death by his brother, Edward Mayeshiba, sister, Akemi Schmerker and great granddaughter, Carly.

Andrew was a proud father of his five children: Michael (Alice Forshner), Paul (Doris), Stephen (Karen), Christopher Mayeshiba and Margaret Crawford (Chris Dannenmann). He is survived by 11 grandchildren, Andrew (Kelly), Brian (Kristin), Daniel, Gregory, Emily, Matthew (Tam), Timothy and Julia Mayeshiba, Monica Santiago, Caitlin (Antonio) Garnica and Samuel Forshner. He is further survived by 15 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Jack Tertadian, Andrew’s decades-long physician for his devoted, compassionate care. Thanks to the staff at Howard Village for their dedication in providing a caring environment to both our Mother and Father.
