Obituary for Barbara A Mueller (Moore)

Was born and raised in Milwaukee's Riverwest area and a longtime resident of South Milwaukee. Died on March 26, 2018 at the age of 77 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Ronald J. Mueller. She is survived by her son Jeffrey (Diane) Mueller, daughter Jennifer (Timothy) Mirenda-Mueller, grandchildren; Mallory (Steve), Nicolas, Josh, Emily, Gracie, Michael (Laura), Michelle (Dan), Melissa (Greg) and Justin. Great-grandmother to Christopher and Ashley and great-great grandmother to Sailor, Hayvn and Kinsley.

Barbara was a former member of the South Milwaukee Public Library Foundation Board and a Life Member of the South Milwaukee Yacht Club. She was a charter, life and former board member of the South Milwaukee Historical Society. A former Board of Directors member of the Milwaukee South Shore Noon Lions Club and was a recipient of the prestigious Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. She was a member of the Cudahy Vagabonds and loved to travel with them, the Chester W. Grobschmidt Senior Center, the Polish Center of Wisconsin and the South Milwaukee Lions.

Barbara served on the City of South Milwaukee Bicentennial Committee. A longtime member of Divine Mercy (formerly St. Johns) parish and served on the parish Centennial Committee. She also served on the board of directors and was a volunteer at the former South Milwaukee Community Center.

Barbara worked 5 years as a secretary at AC Spark Plugs (Delco), 23 years as a newspaper reporter for Community Newspapers Inc. and 16 years as secretary and office manager for South Milwaukee Association of Commerce.

Barbara loved to read and listen to music, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, with friends at the yacht club and being involved in the community. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Barbara's name to the South Milwaukee Lions, South Milwaukee Public Library, the Ronald McDonald House or the Wisconsin Humane Society would be appreciated. Visitation on Wednesday, April 4 at Divine Mercy Parish (800 Marquette Ave, South Milwaukee) from 2 to 4 pm with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Interment Forest Hill Memorial Park.
