Condolence: My friendship with Bill will always be among my fondest memories. When we first met, he wrote a poem for the girl who is now my wife. Bill could write a wonderful poem about any subject spontaneously, usually on a restaurant napkin. Bill fought many battles, always with aplomb and as a gentleman. His manners were courtly. Patriotism, faith, humility and love of family were among the hallmarks of his character. His love for his wife, Carol, was profound. He was very grateful that she loved him with incredible devotion. He credited her for saving his life. I will miss him.
