Obituary for John W Johanneck

John died peacefully on July 2, 2016 surrounded by family. Born July 28, 1923 in Red Lake Falls, MN. He was married to the love of his life, Bernice (nee Benoit) for 69 years. Also survived by 5 children; Barbara (Dennis) Pusich, Shirley (Galen) Anklam, John (Peggy) Johanneck, Dolores (Jim) Piasecki and Jerry (Tammy) Johanneck. Preceded in death by his grandson, Andrew A Piasecki (Harmeyer). Further survived by 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

John was a proud member of the US Navy and served on the USS Tawasa in World War II. He was an operating engineer until he retired. John was known for his love of his family, and anyone who knew him walked away with a story to tell. He will be deeply missed by his wife and family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Special thanks to all the caregivers at Willowgreen Assisted Living. You ladies are awesome.

Visitation on Friday, July 8 at the funeral home from 10 to 12 with a service at 12 pm. Entombment to follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
