John D. Klein - Molthen-Bell General Manager
I remember working funerals at St. Adalbert's and Larry was always telling us stories of his time in the military and being a P.O.W. His knowledge of the Almanac and weather patterns were always spot on. As soon as we would arrive at the church he would say "we have x amount of snowfalls of which x would be just dustings" and he would be right. I do miss those conversations. My sincerest condolences go out to your family.

Joseph Alexander Suchorski
Hello, My name is Joseph Alexander Suchorski. I am a friend of Mr. Scheiding's who used to visit him a lot over the past 2 years at The Clement J. Zablocki V.A. Medical Center where he resided. I would visit with him often, sometimes every day. I met Mr. Scheiding, or as I always called him "Serge" a little more then 2 years ago through my Mother, Mary who works at The VA on his floor & took care of Serge. I went to go up there to see him on the Morning of July 26, 2015 at 7:00 A.M. & I saw the plaque with Serge's name on it, that he had passed away. The VA Staff informed me that Serge had passed away at 4:00 A.M. that Morning. He was Truly a World War II Hero & I always enjoyed talking to him whenever I could. The Last Time that I talked to him was a few days ago on Thursday Morning, July 23, 2015. I met him a little more then 2 Years Ago & we had a instant Friendship right off. My Mom introduced us. I always enjoyed hearing his stories from World War II. He used to tell me that he flew 33 Missions in a B - 25 Bomber & him & his crew were shot down & they were captured & surronded by 10,000 Russians & had to March long ways to the Camp. He said that he was shot down by this World War II German Ace Fighter Pilot named Hans Brunner. He would also tell me about when he used to work for The United States Postal Service after his Military Service was up. I remember that he used to talk about when he worked at The Post Office, he would talk about this guy that they called "Punchy Boil". He used to call my Mom Farm Girl whenever she would come in to take care of him. We would always talk about farming, fishing, World War II, The Wisconsin State Fair, & many other things. I would usually visit with him around his Breakfast Time or his Lunch Time. Sometimes he did not like what The Dietary Staff at The Clement J. Zablocki V.A. Medical Center would fix him for Breakfast or Lunch. So... Sometimes I would sneak him up a Sausage & Cheese McMuffin from McDonald's with no Egg on it because he did not like Eggs... he would always tell me "No Egg on it"... or for Lunch, I would sneak him up a Cheeseburger or a Double Cheeseburger from McDonald's. He really liked when I would bring him up Food. He would eat it right away. One thing that he always had to have was his Coffee... & he always had to fix his American Flag when he would come into the dining room there. After I would visit with him, I would tell him that I would see him Tomorrow or see him later, & he would say "OK Joe". Sometimes I would visit with him for hours at a Time & we would just talk & laugh or I would just sit there & listen to what he had to say. I always enjoyed the stories that he would tell me about his life earlier on, or his Time during his Military Service. Evern if I had heard the stories before, it was still nice to listen to him tell it again... especially because this if the kind of stuff that you can't find in the history books in school. I would get a first hand account of what it was like for Serge when he would talk about his Military Service. He was a good person. I always enjoyed spending Time with him. I feel Heartbroken that he is gone now. There are not many people at all in this World that I form a special bond or attachment too, be he was one of the people that I did. This Morning I was up at the VA again & like always I happened to look over at the tables where he woould have Breakfast, Lunch, or Supper expecting to see him there waiting for his meal, but then I remember that he is no longer with us.. & that makes me sad. I will never forget the fun Times that Serge & I had talking about many different things. My Thoughts & Prayers go out to Mr. Scheiding, his Family, his friends, & anybody else who Mr. Scheiding has had a impact on their life. I Love You & I miss you Serg. May God Bless you & watch over you. Rest In Peace. Sincerely, You're Friend Joseph Alexander Suchorski
