Obituary for Sherry Mae Chadwick (Kruegel)

Chadwick, Scheherazade "Sherry"
(Nee Kruegel ), died suddenly at her home in South Milwaukee on March 26, 2015. Her husband Ben preceded her in death less than one year ago. Sherry is survived by her four children; Tina Lipski, Vince Lipski, Barbara Streeter, Renee Lange, and eight grandchildren. Tina's son, Justin; Vince's daughter, Megan; Barbara's children, Cory (deceased), Ginny, Douglas and Chadwick; and Renee's children, Bill, Ralene and Brandon. Sherry also had two great-grandchildren, Justin's son, Silas and Ginny's son, Noah. Trixie, her four-legged daughter in a fur coat, is lost without Sherry. Sherry was close to all her siblings, Sandy Shelton in Chicago; Rocky Kruegel (Kathy) in Mequon; Randy Kruegel (Carolan) in SC; Cindy Brown (Brian) in CA and Albert Kruegel (Dezarae) in CA. Her sister Linda Brumfield preceded her in death. Sherry was always there and eager to listen to her nieces and nephews; Kimberly Bingen, Mike Bingen (Shelton); Dan Kruegel, Dana Fillbach, Dawn Hansen, and Dyana Rzentkowski (Rocky); Corinne Cheatham (Brumfield); Nicholas (Randy) and Kaycie and Trenton (Albert). Sherry and Ben were married at Trinity Lutheran Church, South Milwaukee on April 3, 1984, sun was out and it was a beautiful day. However, there was a fierce snow and sleet storm which guests discovered when they departed the reception. People don't expect that kind of weather in April even in Milwaukee. It was the first time some West Coast guests saw snow. Sherry and Ben were long-time members of the South Milwaukee Yacht Club. Their home was on a hill across the street from Lake Michigan and overlooked the yacht club where they moored their boat, "Ben's Yen". Sherry was a fantastic hostess whether it was at home, on their boat or at the yacht club. Sherry was an excellent cook and could whip up a party or holiday meal in no time. She prided herself on being able to prepare food ahead of time and being able to serve food and enjoy her guests at the same time. For many years Sherry and Ben owned and operated Chadwick's Pub in South Milwaukee. Being near a large business, Sherry had a busy lunch crowd every day. Good food and a fun place to go. Sherry and Ben loved to travel and one of their favorite places was New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Sherry would sew beautiful costumes for them to wear at the festivities. Sherry's siblings agreed that there wasn't anything she couldn't do. One year she completely redecorated their boat making all new curtains and reupholstering the cushions. No small feat! Sherry was a woman of tremendous kindness, passion and energy for her family and friends. She loved her children unconditionally and they knew how much there were loved. Sherry will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation at Molthen-Bell Funeral Home, 700 Milwaukee Ave., South Milwaukee, on Monday, April 6, from 4-7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM. Funeral procession on Tuesday, April 7 at noon from Molthen-Bell to Arlington Park Cemetery. A graveside service at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be greatly appreciated and are being accepted for the Scheherazade Chadwick Memorial Fund by Pyramax Bank, 1015 Marquette Ave., South Milwaukee, WI 53172
