Obituary for Anthony Frank Wawrzyniak (Wawrzyniak)

Wawrzyniak, Anthony Frank “Tony” (age 91) formerly of South Milwaukee, WI passed away Monday, December 15, 2014 at Vitas Hospice Care. He was born July 15, 1923, to Anton and Mary Wawrzyniak. He was united in marriage to the late Mary Jane Johnson on November 20, 1948 and settled in South Milwaukee where they raised five children.

After discharge as a medic from the US Army Air Corps he returned to work at Allen Bradley for over 40 years. His passions in life were bowling and golf. He never bowled a 300 game, but ultimately got three holes in one in golf (two of them during the same game). He started the Sunday morning Father/Sons bowling league in South Milwaukee in 1961 and continued to participate in it for over 25 years. He enjoyed woodworking and made beautiful pieces for family and charity. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Polish National Alliance. He is survived by his five children: John (Sandy), George (Kathleen), Anne, Ralph (Cindy), and Mark (Linda), eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and special friend Ruth Wollenschlager.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary, and sister, Helen.

Visitation will be held 10:00AM-10:45AM at Divine Mercy Church followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM. Interment at St. Adalbert Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Milwaukee Society Polish National Alliance scholarship fund, 6941 S. 68th St. Franklin, WI 53132.
