It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father. Thomas R. Meszaros was born peacefully to eternal life on March 6, 2025 at the age of 83. Loving husband of Mary(Mees) Meszaros, father of four, grandfather of seven, and great grandfather of one.
Tom was known for his sense of humor, his love of sports and his fierce devotion to his grandchildren. Whether it was about their sports, or the game of life, he was their biggest fan. In later years, while fighting his own battle with cancer, he showed great kindness and heartfelt tenderness with our mother while visiting her in memory care. No matter how he felt, if he could be, he was there by her side.
Tom was born in South Milwaukee on July 19, 1941. He graduated from South Milwaukee high school where he played basketball and football for the Rockets. He went on to Ripon College where he spent time on the basketball team before returning to South Milwaukee. Shortly thereafter, he met the love of his life Mary. They were married in 1962 and recently celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Tom, a real estate appraiser, was proud of his nearly two decades as the City Assessor of South Milwaukee. Upon leaving his role with the city, he co-founded Dairyland Appraisal, became the sole owner of the business and had 25 years of success before his retirement. In retirement, he also assisted a number of local municipalities with their reassessments on a contract basis.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Helen (Roth) Meszaros, his father Rudy Meszaros and his brother Randy Meszaros. Tom is survived by his wife, Mary (Mees), his brother Dennis (Cindy La Fontaine) Meszaros, his four children, Rick Meszaros, Mike (Tammy Borden) Meszaros,Lisa (Meszaros) Pusheck, and Mark Meszaros. He is further survived by his seven grandchildren, Emily and Ellie Pusheck, Danny (Katie Ilg) Pusheck, Samantha Meszaros, Alyssa Meszaros, Jacob Meszaros, Alex Brion Meszaros and his great granddaughter. Tom and Alex had a particular bond and considered each other to be best friends. He and Alex spent countless hours together just talking about "stuff". Alex, he loved you and appreciated your relationship and help more than you can know. Special thanks to Mark and Mike.
Tom also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, in-laws and dear friends, many that he met for luncheons several times each month. The family would like you to know that you are all much loved and appreciated.
A memorial service will be held on April 4th, 2025, 10am Mass at 11:00am, at: Divine Mercy Parish 800 Marquette Avenue South Milwaukee, WI 53172.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Dementia Society.
