Susan Janowski

January 15, 1948 — May 26, 2025

Susan Ann Janowski (née Lindmeyer), of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away  suddenly on May 26, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on January 15, 1948, in Racine, Wisconsin, Susan led a life defined by creativity, and a deep love for family. For much of the 1980's Sue had worked with the American Red Cross, serving as Director of Education for the Milwaukee Area chapter. Her work extended into Disaster Services, where she helped communities during times of need. Her dedication to public awareness continued as she was the president of the Milwaukee Chapter of M.A.D.D  (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) for many years, after a close family friend's daughter had been killed by a drunk driver. At home, Susan cultivated beauty through gardening and artistic expression. A passionate gardener with a special fondness for hostas, Sue and Ed created JANOWSKI HOMESTEAD HOSTAS and turned their yard into a walk in garden filled with vibrant flora for customers to enjoy and partake. Indoors, she found joy in quilting and crocheting, creating warmth and comfort through every piece she made. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Edmund Janowski; her children, Paul Janowski (Susie Duke), David Janowski (Tamara Dunn), and Anne Janowski (Dan Spaeth), and her grandchildren: Ryan Spaeth, Benjamin Janowski, Ryland Janowski, and Alexander Janowski. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Enid Lindmeyer; and her brother, Clifford Lindmeyer. A Memorial will be announced in the near future. Her legacy of dedication, artistry, and love continues to inspire those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all who were touched by her life. " A measure of a life, is a measure of love and respect, so hard to earn, so easily burned. In the fullness of time, a Garden to nurture and protect, IS a measure of a life."
