Shockey Tamuzian Shoman

September 29, 1932 — February 12, 2026

Shockey Tamuzian-Shoman, 93, of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
She was born on September 29, 1932, in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she lived with her parents on Montana Avenue near the shores of Lake Michigan. A self-described tomboy, she loved being outdoors and spending time along Lake Michigan and riding her bike throughout Grant Park.
Shockey graduated from South Milwaukee High School in 1950 and, at the urging of her sister, focused on developing her secretarial skills. After high school, she began her career at Bucyrus-Erie, Moebius Printing and later P&H Harnischfeger retiring in 1994. She was proud of her accomplishments and contributions to these organizations, where she served as an Executive Secretary to the Vice Presidents in the mining divisions.
In 2003, Shockey was united in marriage to the “love of her life,” Robert F. Shoman. She was a devoted member of Holy Resurrection Armenian Church and a lifetime member of the South Shore Yacht Club. An avid boater, she also had a great love for her dogs. Shockey enjoyed coloring, artwork, and shopping of all kinds.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Shoman; her parents, Gabribed and Shahnur (Tokatlian) Tamuzian; and her beloved sister, Mary Tamuzian (Theodore) Hogg.
She is survived by her nephew, James (Sandy) Hogg of Davenport, Iowa; her niece, Janet (Darin) Paku of Minocqua, Wisconsin; Robert’s children Edward Shoman (Wendy) of Fort Meyers, FL, Bobby Jean Shoman of Greendale, WI, Janeen (Michael) Bontempo of Milwaukee, WI, and Michael Shoman of Milwaukee, WI; and her special friend and caregiver, Patty Walthall.
Shockey was a loving woman with a large heart and will be missed by all she touched. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Shockey’s memory may be made to Holy Resurrection Church.
