It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Poehlman, a beloved husband, stepfather, brother, and uncle. Born on June 10, 1956, in Wisconsin, Bob passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, in his home, at the age of 70.
Bob lived life to the fullest. He loved the outdoors, camping, and biking. One of his proudest achievements was biking from the state of Washington to Virginia Beach with his brother Tom.
Bob was often found in a beer garden listening to music, or playing his guitars. He cherished the open road, driving his Jeep with his late dog, Rudy. He also enjoyed afternoon naps with his dog Augie.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Jill. He was a stepfather to Nick Szczech (Dean Krouk), and Jake Szczech. His brothers Bill, John (Mary), Tom (Becky), Dan, and Dave (Roselle) mourn his loss but carry on his legacy.
Bob was the son-in-law of Carol and the late Paul Jablonowski, and a brother-in-law to Tom (Mary) Jablonowski. He loved his large extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elsa Poehlman, and his brother Jim.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Abhay Jella, and the care team at Vince Lombardi South Shore Cancer Clinic, as well as Dr. Daniel Lindsay and the radiation oncology team at Aurora, St. Luke's Hospital, and Aurora at Home Hospice for their incredible support and care throughout Bob's journey.
A private internment will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May his spirit live on in everyone he touched.
