Robert Makowski

Passed away on September 21, 2026 at the age of 88. For 54 years, Robert "Bob" walked hand-in-hand with his beloved wife, Kathy, building a life and family together. Out of all the roles he held throughout his life, few brought him as much joy as being a father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Kathleen and survived by his children; Susan (Mark) Muskevitsch and David Makowski, grandchildren Sarah (Keith) Johnson, Kristen (Marcus) Kucek, Andrew Muskevitsch and one great-granddaughter Macy Johnson. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He worked as a software engineer, pursuing continuing education into his 60's. He was a dedicated car enthusiast who appreciated a well-crafted engine. He spent many hours target shooting with his son, a hobby he loved.

Bob found peace and pleasure in simple, focused pursuits. He could often be found taking quiet walks through Grant Park. He had a lifelong love affair with music and felt fulfilled playing his classic Fender guitar. His humor was remembered among those who knew him: quick, clever, and timed just right. Above all, Bob remained steadfastly his own person, guided by his own internal compass and leaving an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
