Robert Machak

December 12, 1935 — September 7, 2023

Robert Paul "Bob" Machak, a resilient, persistent, and respected man, passed away peacefully at The Woods of Caledonia on September 7, 2023. Born on December 12, 1935, in Cudahy, Wisconsin, to Paul and Katherine. Bob was the youngest of four children. His older siblings, Emily, Anne, and John, preceded him in death.

Bob's life was marked by a strong work ethic and a love for adventure. After graduating from high school, he began a 41-year career at Ladish Company in 1956, where he worked in the pyrometry department as a heating specialist until his retirement in 1997. His dedication to his job was a testament to his belief in hard work and persistence.

In his personal life, Bob was a devoted husband and father. He met his wife, Joan, (nee Roskoski), at Cudahy High School. Together, they raised two sons, David (Debi) and Thomas (Penelope). Bob was also a proud grandfather. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Laura, and is survived by his grandchildren, Daniel, Mark, Deah, Sofia, Nikolaos, and Evangelia.

Bob was known for his dry humor and direct nature. He was an adventurous spirit who loved the outdoors. His hobbies included golf, fishing, racquetball, tennis, skiing, and gunsmithing. He also had a fondness for his beloved 1966 Volvo. In his retirement, Bob developed a passion for collecting clocks, vintage radios and making golf clubs.

Bob's love for Clint Eastwood movies and old westerns was well-known among his friends and family. His appreciation for these films reflected his own adventurous spirit and competitive nature. He was mechanically inclined, a trait that served himwell in his hobbies and career.

Private services are being held in his honor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimers.org in Bob's memory.

Bob's life was a testament to resilience, persistence, and respect. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
