Passed away on April 13, 2025 at the age of 95. Ramona, our mother, was a devoted mom who after getting divorced raised seven children on her own. Always putting us first she went without things for herself, making sure we had the food, clothes, and other things we needed. Enough so that one day her father gave her money and told her to go buy something nice to wear for herself, because he saw how tattered her things were getting and he did not let go of his money lightly.
When our youngest brother, Steven, was graduating high school Mom finally was able to think of herself and she married a wonderful man. Ephrem was the love of her life and they shared 23 years of fun trips, great family get togethers, and dancing the night away (no polka left behind). We were also grateful to see her happy and many fun times were shared at their home at Red Geanite Wisconsin and Ocala Florida.
To others our mom was known for her love of birds, bingo and especially picture taking. There was never an event that she was at without her camera alongside her and ready to go. Although many of us grumbled, and sometimes even fought her about getting her picture taken again we all enjoyed and appreciated the beautiful photographs we received from her afterward. (we believe she may have been the person who helped keep the drugstore in Red Granite open and extra year just because of their photo department!).
A questionnaire once asked Mom what she thought her greatest achievement in life was. We do not remember what her answer was, but thinking back to that question now, we say being the greatest Mom that she could be with what she had to work with would be our answer. Our deepest thank you goes out to you mom. We know that you are here in spirit, and although we will miss you so much, we take comfort in knowing you are where you have wanted to be for a long time. Take care of yourself and please say hi to all we have lost in the life here on earth. Until we meet again someday.
