Philip Lindberg

September 20, 1926 — April 26, 2021

Greenfield - Passed away peacefully on April 26, 2021 at the age of 94. He is survived by his three sons Philip (Charmaine), Robert (Kristie) and David (Theresa); his grandchildren Jenna (Andrew) Rogers, Mikail Brahm-Lindberg, Benjamin Philip (Keena) Lindberg, Bradley (Kylie) Lindberg, Lauren Lindberg and Ethan Lindberg. He is further survived by three great-grandchildren; Henrik Philip and Cruz Lindberg, and Ronan Rogers and a sister-in-law Ruth Vanek. Philip was born in Florence, WI on September 20, 1926. He graduated from Florence High School as the class valedictorian in 1944. He entered the U.S. Navy and served onboard ship in the South Pacific during WWII. Following his time of service, he went on to earn a degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University. He had a long, productive career in the Milwaukee area, mainly in the design of heavy machinery and agricultural equipment. He spent his retirement years in the northwoods of Florence County, which he liked to call home. Philip married Ann (Vanek) Lindberg in 1956, and together they built a home and raised a family in Cudahy, WI. Philip and Ann passed along their Swedish and Czechoslovakian heritages to their sons and grandchildren. They were devoted to one another and happily married for 55 years. Philip loved the outdoors, especially the woods and waters of Florence County. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to share his passion with his sons and grandsons. He also enjoyed camping, biking, gardening and woodworking. There remains many hand carved animals and figurines to preserve his memory. Philip had a special love for music, which was displayed beautifully through his rich, baritone voice. He returned this gift to God by singing in the St. John's Church choir for over 60 years. Philip was preceded in death by his parents Philip and Edna (Johnson) Lindberg, sister Merle (Wickstrom), wife Ann (Vanek) Lindberg and brothers-in-law Gordon Wickstrom and Martin Vanek Visitation at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church (4850 S Lake Dr, Cudahy) on Friday, April 30 from 10 to 11 am with the funeral service at 11 am. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
