Nellie Rhoades

(nee Buswell) Passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the age of 88. Nellie was born on February 1, 1928 to Ezra and Hazel (Hurley) Buswell in Madison, WI. Nellie is preceded in death by her husband Daniel L. Rhoades and by her sisters; Eileene M. Buswell, Alice L (Cecil) Morgan, Lillian E. (Edwin) Schweiger as well as nieces; Cheryl Ann Mierow and Jean Cecile (Russell) Hobgood. She is survived by; her nephews Cecil (Gloria), Ralph (Ann) and Terry Morgan. Charles (Pamela) Schweiger and their children Stephanie Markwardt and Christopher (Adrienne) Schweiger. Cheryl Ann's children Kristin (Mark) Jarstad, Tammy Salawater, William (Jill) Mierow, Jamie (Bryan) Boettcher. God-mother to Greg Swoverland, Kyle Sauerwein, and Stephanie Markwardt. She was a graduate of Holcombe High School, joining the Nurses Cadet Corp in her senior year in 1944-1945. She attended ECSTC in 1945-1946. She and Daniel were married on August 20, 1947. She continued her education, receiving the Degree of Associate Arts in General Education from MATC while working at the Ladish Company in Cudahy. Nellie was a member of the Cudahy United Methodist Church, Jacques Vieau Chapter Wisconsin Society Daughters of the American Revolution, and American Legion Auxiliary Ladysmith WI Post. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Diabetes or Heart Association appreciated.
