Michalene I. (Elaine) Habanek Born November 19, 1923 Died September 10, 2023 Beloved wife of Gilbert J. Habanek. Cherished mother of Carin Smith, Jim Habanek and Jerry Habanek (deceased). Dear mother-in-law of Sally Habanek and Darlene Habanek. Grandmother of Rachel (Tim) Stevener, Chris (Christy) Smith, Tony (Kate Parisi) Smith, Ben Habanek, Emily (James) Aleksy and Kate Habanek. Great grandmother of Jordan and Abigail Stevener, Mason and Lincoln Smith and Dominic, Amalia and Madeline Aleksy. Elaine was born in South Milwaukee into a large family of 5 sons and 2 daughters. She graduated from South Milwaukee High School. Elaine and Gilbert were married after his return from service in the Navy during World War II. They raised their three children in Cudahy Wisconsin. Their later years were filled with travel around the United States, volunteer involvement at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church and extended stays at their lake home on Spider Lake in Mercer, Wisconsin. Most recently Elaine resided with Gilbert at Oak Park Place assisted living.
