Marlys Langowski

January 18, 1934 — June 3, 2023

Marlys was born and raised on a farm in Argyle, Minnesota. She met, fell in love, and married Gene Hanson of Thief River Falls, Minnesota. After having two children, Gene and Marlys moved to South Milwaukee to raise their family. Marlys worked for Bucyrus Erie for many years managing the Pricing Department. They were married for almost 30 years. Gene passed away in 1981. Marlys later fell in love and married Francis. They both retired. They spent their lives sharing a loving home in South Milwaukee for 37 years. Marlys was an author, a poet, an accomplished seamstress and a worker of wood art. Intarsia was her award-winning specialty. She also dabbled in oils and watercolors. Her artistry was her passion until the devastation of Alzheimer's robbed her of her abilities. It so sad to see a once vibrant and energetic woman become a mere fraction of her true self. Marlys Langowski is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, Francis Langowski and two children, Scott (Susan) Hanson and Lori Mijokovic. She was grandmother to four grandchildren; Sean Mijokovic, Nicholas (Sarah) Hanson, Eric (Monica) Hanson and Brandon Mijokovic as well as five great grandchildren; Ava, Lincoln, Calvin, Wilson, and Franklin Hanson. She was preceded in death by 1 brother, Vernon (Madeline) Skoglund and survived by 1 brother Bob and the late Arlene Skoglund, and 1 sister Lucille (John) Rakowski. A special thanks to the staff of Aurora Home Hospice and the wonderful team at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice that were assigned to Marlys in room 115. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer's Association. https://curealz.org/giving/donate/
