Marian Davis

August 7, 1926 — September 14, 2023

Marian Davis (nee Omer), 97, resident of South Milwaukee and member of Divine Mercy parish since 1961, joined the angels on September 14, 2023.  She was born on August 7, 1926, in Mahnomen, MN.  She grew up during the great depression on a farm in Bagley, MN.  Although the family was poor and farm work was hard, Marian referred to that time period as the good 'ole days.  She had many stories to tell about her life on the farm and the 1-room school she attended until the age of 14 and always considered that area home, making it a point to return there every year to visit friends and family.

In 1946, she met a young sailor named Ralph Davis, and 2 years later they were married.  Together, they settled in South Milwaukee where they raised their son and four boisterous daughters.  Marian was a religious, kind, and hardworking woman, always available for her family. She had a zest for life and was so much fun her children enjoyed taking day trips with her to the casino, as well as special adventures to destinations such as New Orleans, Denver, Orlando, Seattle, Rome, and England.

Marian was a farm girl at heart and loved all animals. She had many jobs throughout her life, but always said her last job working on the craft production team at Steins was her favorite.  She was a wonderful role model, a proud Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma that would do anything for them. They will all miss Sunday afternoon lunches with her potato salad, broccoli salad and cookies. Marian will be deeply missed by her surviving children: Douglas Davis (Kathy), Julie Crowl (Craig), Joan Loveall (John), Mary Jane Kosciesza (Randy), and Sandy Carini (John). She was also a cherished grandmother to Michael Davis, Jason Loveall, Craig Crowl II (Lauren), Nicholas Carini (Christine), Caitlin Jay (Nate), Megan Kosciesza (Derek Jones), and four great-grandchildren:  Thomas, Josephine, Tripp and Maggie. Marian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph. The family invites friends and loved ones to pay their respects at the Molthen Bell Funeral Home, 700 Milwaukee Avenue , in South Milwaukee, WI. The visitation will be held on September 27th at 10am with a service to follow at 11:30am. Entombment at Forest Hill Memorial Park to follow. Special thanks to Hospice Alliance of Pleasant Prairie,WI for the support and the loving care they gave Marian in her final weeks.
