Linda A. Thornley passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 72.
Born on October 22, 1952, to Edward and Betty Lou Thornley, Linda began her life in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Soon her family moved to Racine, Wisconsin. Her early years were grounded in Midwestern values before her family relocated to California. There, she thrived under the golden skies of the West Coast, where her sharp intellect and unwavering determination began to shine.
Linda pursued higher education with passion and purpose. She earned her undergraduate degree from UCLA and went on to receive her law degree from Southwestern University School of Law. With a strong sense of independence and a commitment to excellence, she established her own private legal practice—an achievement that reflected both her intelligence and resolute spirit.
A lifelong traveler at heart, Linda found immense joy in exploring the world through cruises. Each voyage was an opportunity for discovery and adventure. It was during one such journey that she met Tore—a serendipitous encounter that blossomed into love. The two married in 2004 and shared homes in Las Vegas and Washington state before Tore returned to his native Norway. Later, Linda settled in South Milwaukee, choosing to be closer to family as she entered a new chapter of life.
Linda had a deep affection for animals, especially dogs. She had a particular fondness for Boxers and treasured the companionship of her Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Rascal and Gracie. Their loyal presence brought joy and comfort into her daily life.
Those who knew Linda remember her as beautiful both inside and out—kind-hearted yet fiercely independent; intelligent with a quiet strength that left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents at Oak Creek Place for their compassionate care during Linda's final days.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
