Joseph Skowronski

Aug 1, 1958 — Jul 31, 2026

South Milwaukee

Joseph Walter Skowronski, 67, born to Daniel Skowronski Sr. and Alice (Gabrielson) Skowronski, passed away at home on July 31, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Joe was a talented woodworker, had a passion for writing, and found great joy in music and reading, with David Bowie among his favorite musical artists. He was an avid sports fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers rarely missing a chance to cheer on his favorite teams. He retired from the South Milwaukee Water Utility with over thirty years of dedicated service.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Karen; son, Jason (fiancé Shelle Zimmerman); daughters, Coral (Dominic) Ziino and Jenna; brothers, Steven (Linda), Daniel Jr. (Jenny), and Andrew (Heidi) Skowronski; sister, Danette (Paul) Heimerl; nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Special to Alex Zimmerman (fiancé Sarah Sharrow), son of Shelle. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nancy Kazinski.

Joe will be remembered most for his unwavering love for his family, his quiet strength, dry-wit, laugh, and his kind, steady presence. Whether sharing a humorous story or a perfectly timed joke, he had a gift for making others smile. He will truly be missed.
