John M. Miller, age 68, passed into glory on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
John was born to George & Mildred (nee Parkel) Miller in Milwaukee on May 5, 1953. He attended St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church and School, and later Pius XI High School.
Following high school, John attended MATC for computer science but later decided that wasn't for him. So, he worked at Hintz and Van Dale Landscape until he found a position at Wehr Steel Foundry. He later worked for Grede Foundry and Machine Shop for over 20 years, until it closed. He finally retired from Packaging Corps of America (PCA) in December 2018. After that, he got his dream retirement job, cutting the fairways at Tuckaway Country Club!
John met the love of his life at a CYO dance on June 17, 1970, and he and Pat were married on August 17, 1974. Together, they have two wonderful daughters, Erin & Jessica, and made a wonderful life together in Milwaukee and later Oak Creek.
John will be remembered for his love of golf, casinos, travel, ice cream, Packers, Captain Morgan, doing yardwork/landscaping, keeping busy, and talking with anyone he meets.
He is preceded in death by his parents George & Millie Miller, special fathers-in-law Bobbie Harley & Bob Heitkamp, and many aunts and uncles.
John is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Patricia (nee Heitkamp); daughters Erin Lasocki and Jessica (Joe) Stewart; grandchildren Noah & Jacob Lasocki, and McKenna & Evan Stewart; favorite sister Mary Miller; mother-in-law Rosella Harley; sister-in-law Kim Grapel (Doug); special cousins Charlie & Mary Singer, and many other beloved family members and friends.
A special thanks to those who took such good care of John at Mitchell Manor at Meadowmere, Oak Creek.
