Joan Pecor

February 11, 1933 — June 8, 2021

With profound sadness, we announce the death of Joan Adele Pecor. She passed away in New Berlin at her beautiful apartment the night of Tuesday, June 8th with family at her bedside. Joan was a true storyteller. She regaled family with tales of her mischievous teen years, her travels and her many moves with Glenn, Gwenn, Jay and Dana in tow. Glenn was a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy and their travels included Scotland, Hawaii, Kansas, California, Connecticut, Florida and New Jersey until they settled in South Milwaukee. She was blessed with an early retirement at On Top of The World in Ocala, Fl. Joan was unapologetically honest and never left anyone guessing what her feelings may be. She swore like a sailor! She always dressed sharply and loved to wear white (never after Labor Day). Joan was the toughest cookie in the jar and instilled this tenacity in her children and their children and so on. She was a penny pincher to the very end but was always generous to her family. Joan never complained and did not fear death. In fact, she read the obituaries in The Journal Sentinel daily, laughing "It was a good day, I didn't see my name." Joan loved to golf, and always reminded everyone that she had two holes in one under her belt, while Glenn didn't have a single one. She enjoyed watching Bucks games with her girlfriends and was the best virtual bowler in her apartment complex. If she could eat a good burger (pink, not medium rare) with fried onions every day, as long as she had a Pepsi to wash it down, she'd be perfectly content. Joan loved to crochet, read a good book, take drives to Bay View (where she was raised) and find great deals at Goodwill picking up a Subway Sub after. Her family and friends grieve the physical loss of a matriarch, mother, Nana, great grandma, aunt, and confidant. Joan's voice will echo via memories and forever warm hearts as her stories are retold. Joan Adele Pecor was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Orville. Her legacy carries on through her children Gwenn (Alan), Miles "Jay" (Chrissy), and Dana (Craig), her grandchildren Jessica (Gary), Erica (Tim), Shelby (John), Jenna, Ryan and Connor and her two precious great-granddaughters Ellysyn and Nora. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Assocation in Joan's name www.alz.org
