Of Cudahy, passed away on March 20
th
, 2024, at the age of 87 years. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Peter Haase. She was a loving mother to Cathy Haase, Gail (Chris) Kontowicz and Glen Haase. Proud grandmother of Austin (Sydney), Alec, Adaline, and Kez, and newly appointed "Grandma Great" to Juliet Joan (JJ). Preceded in death by other relatives and friends.
Our mom was a wonderful mother who taught us the importance of family. Nothing made her prouder than when the entire "Haase clan" showed up to an event. It could be a school or sport event, a special event (birthday, wedding, anniversary), a family trip to the Northwoods, or as simple as an impromptu family dinner. She taught us to be confident in ourselves while remaining humble, down to earth, and to appreciate all that we have; often reminding us that "we're not fancy folks" and "this isn't the Astoria".
Her love of family did not stop with her children, but it intensified with her grandchildren. She could be seen with our dad at our children's school and sporting events; she would coordinate the annual "grandma, grandpa and grandchildren only" trips to the cottage and she loved to plan those special grandchildren breakfasts of "grandma's thin pancakes".
Our mom was a very sociable person and loved a good gathering. She always made sure everyone felt included and could chat for hours. She had a knack of asking that one question everyone was thinking, but always in a way that did not offend. Her circle of friends was large and ranged from as far back as high school to as recent as staff and residents at Oak Creek Place.
Our family would like to thank the staff at Oak Creek Place for making the last 4 years a place our mom called home. We extend a very special thank you to the nurses and staff at St. Croix Hospice, who brought comfort to our mom as well as ourselves in the final days.
The family would also like to thank all family and friends for their love and support.
A Celebration of life gathering will be on Friday, March 29
th
from 4pm to 6:30pm, followed by Memorial service from 6:30 to 7:00pm at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be done privately at St. Stephen's Cemetery.
