James Aubrey Wegner age 85, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026 surrounded by his loving family in Menomonee Falls. Born in 1940, he lived a life full of dedication, adventure, and love.
He married the love of his life, Diane, in 1962, and together they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. A devoted husband and proud father, he raised three daughters—Lynnette (David) Saskowski, Shari (Michael) Moon and Debra (Michael) Wozniak — instilling in them the values of hard work, kindness, and perseverance. Loving grandfather to Dalton, Alec, Chase, Savanah and Landon and great-grandfather to Carter. Survived by his sister, Karen (Fred) Pliszka.
A successful businessman, James built a career marked by integrity and determination. Outside of work, he found joy in the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, always happiest with a rod in hand or exploring the woods. His passion for nature was matched only by his unwavering loyalty to his beloved Green Bay Packers—a lifelong fan who tried hard to never miss a game.
Above all, James cherished his family. His wisdom, humor, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held on January 25 from 11-1 pm at Molthen-Bell & Son in South Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s association chapter.
