James Akre

Born, raised and lifelong resident of South Milwaukee - Passed away peacefully on February 1, 2023 at the age of 87. Loving husband to Sarah for 67 years. Beloved father to Pamela Akre, Curtis (Gail) Akre, Holly (Ronald) Weissenberger and Christine (Jeffrey) Boekhoff. Dear grandfather to Conrad, Jordan, Collin, Amanda and great-grandfather to Kennedy. Jim served in the Air Force for 10 years from 1955 to 1965 as a radio operator. He worked at the Ladish Company from 1965 until his retirement in 1995. He had a lifelong passion for being a ham radio operator with his call sign WA9TZE. He will be deeply missed. Memorial service will be on February 10th at Franciscan Gardens Chapel (1000 Williams Ave, South Milwaukee) 1 PM.
