Gordon Polster

Gordon J Polster, age 90 passed away at his residence on Thursday, February 4, 2020. Gordon, known to everyone as "Gordy" was born on March 18, 1930 to Edmund and Leona (nee: Brickler) Polster. Gordy proudly served his nation in the Korean war from 1952 to 1953 and was discharged from the military in 1960. He married the love of his life Julie (nee: Pencikowski) on July 16, 1955. Julie preceded him in death on July, 10, 2001. Gordy and Julie were married for 45 years and had four children and nine grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Gordy was employed at Racine Steel Castings, retiring in 1991. After his retirement he parked cars for the Milwaukee Brewers and was a maintenance person at St. Matthew's church in Oak Creek, WI. Gordy was a Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewers fan. In his younger years, he liked to bowl and play sheepshead. Gordy is survived by his children Mike (Barb) of Roselle, IL Kathy Tetzlaff of Oak Creek, WI Pat (Pam) of Delavan, WI and Eileen (Carl) Christensen of Mount Pleasant, WI, his grandchildren Matthew Polster, Daniel Tetzlaff, David Tetzlaff, Alex Polster, Emily (Nick) Thornsen, Ashley (Ryan) Kassen, Allison (Trevor) Saley, Rebecca and Samantha Christensen, his 4 great grandchildren and sister-in-law Katie Polster as well as many nieces and nephews, He was preceded in death by his parents Edmund and Leona, his sister, Margaret, his brothers James and Richard and his sister-in-law Beverly. A private service will be held March 18th at the Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Gordon's name to the Wisconsin Veterans Foundation of Wisconsin.
