Gary Arthur Dillon

Gary Arthur Dillon, age 80, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, at 12:55 p.m. at the Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the Heroes Corner Hospice Unit.
Gary was born on October 20, 1945, in Rock Springs, Wyoming. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and was a combat veteran of the Vietnam War.
After his military service, Gary built a long and hardworking career at Bucyrus-Erie, where he worked as a welder for more than 30 years before retiring. He was a man who knew the value of hard work, but he also knew how to enjoy life.
Gary had what his family lovingly called a collector’s eye. He could walk through an antique shop or flea market and spot treasures that others might pass right by. He loved antiquing, flea markets, and finding those special pieces that caught his attention.
But some of Gary’s favorite memories were made with the people he loved. Give Gary a Miller Lite on ice, put some money in the jukebox, turn up the music, and he was ready to have a good time. He loved dancing with his friends and could often be found moonwalking through the bar like he was on stage. Those who knew him will remember his laughter, his dancing, his stories, and his ability to make an ordinary night into a memory.
Above all else, Gary was selfless. If someone needed help, Gary was the kind of person who would give whatever he could. He never asked for anything in return. He had a generous heart and a willingness to help others that will be remembered by the many people whose lives he touched.
Gary was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra A. Dillon, and his great-granddaughter, Nova.
He is survived by his children, Angie Dillon, Melissa Dillon, and Robert Dillon; his grandchildren, William, Sean, Andrew, Cody, Cory, and Elaina; and his great-grandchildren, Isabella, Ellis, and Axel-Bjorn. He is also survived by his siblings, Gayle, Judy, Dennis, and his baby sister Sandy, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly.
Gary leaves behind a lifetime of memories—of family, friendship, hard work, military service, music, dancing, collecting treasures, helping others, and simply enjoying the moments that made life special.
His family will remember him not only for the life he lived, but for the love, laughter, generosity, and unforgettable stories he leaves behind.
Semper Fi, Dad. You served your country, you loved your family, and you lived life your own way. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A private ceremony will be held at Molthen-Bell & Son Funeral Home in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
