September 23, 1934 — April 6, 2026

Franklin

Frank J Hoffmann Jr. entered into the Lord’s presence on April 6th, 2026.

His favorite contentment saying for the past 91 years of his life was, “Do we live?!” His adventurous life started September 23, 1934, son to Edna and Frank Hoffmann Sr. of Milwaukee, WI. At his alma mater, South Division HS, he enjoyed playing in various sports and making lifelong friends, including meeting the love of his life, Gloria (nee. Radditz). Until recently, he still attended SD HS reunions yearly.

During HS, he worked for Patrick Cudahy in the stock yards and upon graduation, proudly served in the army during the Korean war conflict as an artillery surveyor, then paratrooper, and finally a cook. After the service, he married his soul mate, Gloria, resided in South Milwaukee and welcomed 4 children, Karla, Todd, Pamela, and Kyle. He was employed for 30 years with American Motor’s, then Chrysler Motor Company in the parts division.

Aside from sports, Frank was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing with his kids & grandkids, ice fishing, pheasant hunting with his children Todd and Pam, along with her dog, Tigo, and deer hunting with Adam Menzia’s family in Eau Claire, WI - where he always got his deer! He coached kids’ baseball and took many family trips across America, but none better than those trips to Lake Content in St Germain, WI. He found simple joy caring for flower gardens, making pear-applesauce, cooking and baking special treats for family - especially his elephant ears and pecan cookies. He also loved playing cards, making puzzles, square dancing with Gloria and their many friends, collecting coins, and watching sports on TV while having a beer or two. Another saying he often professed was, “All beers are good; some are better.”

Aside from having an infectious laugh and bringing humor to any occasion, he was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in So. Milwaukee, where he joyfully served as an usher, and was part of the accounting/finance committee.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia (Wayne Hoffrichter), wife, Gloria who he was married to for 47 years and affectionately cared for during her battle with cancer, as well as by his special friend, Deena Lange.

He is survived by his children, Karla, Todd (Sandy), Pam, Kyle (Janet) and grandchildren, Brett (Stephanie) Morgan, Alex (Meghan) Hoffmann, Patrick Maroney, Ryan (Maddy) Hoffmann, Ellie Hoffmann, Abbey Hoffmann and great grandchild, Kaliope Morgan.

For Frank, everyday was a “good day”, as he reminisced about the blessings of many friends, family, and good times. And, if your day wasn’t particularly good, his advice was, “Tomorrow’s another day!”

The family would like to acknowledge and thank those who offered compassionate care provided by Franklin Place Memory Care Facility during the last month of his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Church, the Wisconsin Humane Society, &/or Tunnels to Towers/ Veteran’s organizations, and are greatly appreciated.
