Francis "Fritz" Mahsem

August 8, 1936 — December 21, 2021

Francis J, "Fritz" Mahsem was born on August 8th, 1936 and passed away peacefully on December 21st, 2021. Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Veronica along with his brothers, Leonard and Robert, sister Rose Olsen and beloved son, Patrick. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Connie (nee Torzynski), children, Chris (Maureen), Michael and Susan (George) Aldrich and precious granddaughters, Kelly, Julia and Cassidy. Fritz was raised in Cudahy, graduated from Cudahy High school, then served in the US Air Force 1955-1959, stationed in Germany. Upon returning from overseas, Fritz enrolled at UW-Milwaukee where he spent many evenings studying at the Cudahy Public Library. This is where he met the love of his life, librarian Connie Torzynski and they married in 1961. They moved to South Milwaukee in 1964 where he was an involved citizen as part of the South Milwaukee Common Council as alderman including time as Common council president. Long term parishioner of St. John's church, now Divine Mercy parish. Fritz was always ready to serve others and have fun while doing it, his smile and good-natured personality will be missed by many friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to your favorite charity of choice or to the Wisconsin chapter - Alzheimer's Association. Services to be held on Wednesday, December 29th at Divine Mercy Church, 800 Milwaukee Avenue, South Milwaukee. Visitation at 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Burial mass to follow at 11 AM.
