Ferne Ponto

October 6, 1926 — November 21, 2017

Ponto, Ferne Adele Ferne Ponto departed this earthly life and entered eternal life on November 21, 2017. 1 Corinthians 15:57 Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Ferne was born on October 6, 1926 to Julius and Zelda Sorenson. She enjoyed her growing up years with brothers Donald, Donovan, and Douglas. In 1950, Ferne married Clarence Ponto and was a devoted wife. She was a loving mother to Richard (Mary), and Barbara (Frank). Ferne was a wonderful grandmother to Kristin (Dan), Kari, Kirk, Benjamin, Peter, and Philip. She was a proud great-grandmother to Devin, Hailey, Aaron, and Adam. As a longtime member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Cudahy, Ferne joyfully sang, served and worshiped with her treasured church family and friends. Ferne enjoyed time spent with loved ones. A heartfelt thank you to Pauline and all who visited, sent cards, and remembered Ferne in prayer. The family extends a sincere thank you to Heartland Hospice and the caring staff at Brenwood Park Assisted Living in Franklin. There will be a visitation on Monday, November 27th from 1:00-3:00PM. A Christian funeral service will follow with Pastor Marshall officiating. The address for both visitation and funeral is 3775 E. Cudahy Ave. Please join us for a light luncheon after the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials to St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church are appreciated.
