Edward L. Ladwig passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 18, 2023, at the age of 78, following a long illness. He is the son of the late F. Milton and Catherine Ladwig.
Ed is survived by Susan his loving wife of 51 years; his three sons Edward (Shelly), Christopher (Colleen) and Peter (Will Cushman); and his four cherished grandchildren, Anna, Jackson, Addy, and Mae. He is further survived by his brothers M. Alan Ladwig (Barbara), John M. (Terry) Ladwig and Kenneth Ladwig and his sister Catherine (Don) Gray; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives. Ed was preceded in death by his loving parents F. Milton and Catherine Ladwig, his brother David, his sister Mary and his sister-in-law Jill.
Ed proudly served his country in the Vietnam war, where he was an Army medic. After the war, Ed earned his bachelor's degree and started a long and successful career in the insurance industry―he retired from a company where he worked for over 20 years.
Ed was a proud and loving husband, dad, and grandpa. One of Ed's favorite pastimes was going to a baseball or football game with his family. He was an avid fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed golfing. Ed's favorite part of life was being with his family, including vacations with his wife, visiting his sons and siblings, and playing with his grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in Union Grove and Aurora hospice for Ed's care.
