Dolores Fenelon

February 9, 1934 — August 3, 2023

Dolores "Orie" Fenelon (nee Chamberlain) 2/9/1934 - 8/3/2023 Dolores was the youngest of five girls born to Fred and Viva Chamberlain and grew up in Whitewater WI. Growing up she excelled both in athletics as well as in the classroom. As result of her strong intellectual pursuits she graduated Valedictorian of her high school class. After majoring in Chemistry and Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Dolores chose teaching as a profession. She taught middle school in both the South Milwaukee and Oak Creek School Districts as well as night classes at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) downtown. Dolores was an outdoors enthusiast, and an avid golfer and tennis player. She remained active later in life taking up cycling and long distance walking. She developed a love for travel in college taking a bike tour through Europe during the summer of 1955, a time when travel to Europe was still rare. Sailing with a group of friends from Montreal up the St. Lawrence seaway and then across the Atlantic (a journey taking 9 days) she spent 2.5 months biking the European continent. In 1958 she led a group of high schoolers on a bike tour through Europe. She continued her excursions to Europe through late adulthood, often traveling with her sisters. She also loved traveling the United States, camping with her immediate family and whichever beloved family dog was with them at the time. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Fenelon, daughter, Mary Pat Fenelon and by her four loving sisters, Virginia, Goldie, Dorothy and Lois. She is survived by her son, Edward C. Fenelon, daughter, Jean A. Fenelon (Steve Wagner) and grandson, Edward J. Jones and numerous nieces and nephews throughout the country. Special thanks to the Aurora at Home Hospice team (Andrea, Chiquita, Megan, Jackie and Caitlyn) and Team two caregivers and nurses at the Francis Henry Health Center at Tudor Oaks. And a toast goes out to the Dogwood Wine Time group at Tudor Oaks. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Harold W. Kleinpaste Nursing Scholarship at tudoroaks.networkforgood.com would be appreciated.
