Colette Theresa Schoenung

Colette T. Schoenung passed away peacefully on December 14 at the age of 94. She lived her life on her own terms, with a strong independent spirit and a generous heart. Colette was proud of her career as a proofreader at the Milwaukee Journal, where her sharp eye and love of language served her well.

She especially loved to travel, often setting off in search of family genealogy connections or the thrill of a Broadway show. Curiosity, learning, and a love of the arts brought her great happiness throughout her life.

Colette was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Greg and Leo; her sister, Phyllis; her sisters-in-law, Bett, and Dorothy and her niece Kathleen.

She is survived by her brother Jack; nieces Lee Ann (Bob), Barb (Scott), Nancy (Dave), nephew Gary (Jan) and Ron, husband of the late Kathleen, who will miss her deeply. Colette will also be missed by dear friends she has known throughout her life.

The family offers sincere thanks to the staff at Creekside Manor and Legacy Hospice for their kindness, compassion, and care.
