Cecelia Corey

March 24, 1932 — February 3, 2025

Ceil was born on March 24, 1932 in South Milwaukee. She was called to Heaven on February 3rd, 2025 at age 92. Ceil was preceded in death by her husband Mark J. Corey. Also preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters. She is survived by daughter Susan (Ralph) Chapa and son Mark A. (Terri Baker-Corey) Corey. Grandchildren include Cindy (Steve) Harvey, Ann Chapa, Megan (Jeff) Ryan, Van (Rachel) Corey and Marilia Corey. Great grandchildren include Abigail, Madeline, Elizabeth, Katherine, Riley and Adeline. Additionally, survived by many other dear family and friends. Ceil was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved reading to her grandchildren and curled up in bed with them reading their favorite books. Her grandchildren would plead "one more grandma" and she would read another 3 books. Her grandchildren still remember nursery rhymes as adults that she taught them. Some of the favorites were "gray squirrel" and "Miss Polly had a dolly". Ceil loved golfing with friends at Warnimont golf course. She fondly remembered all of the spontaneous lunches and rides through Grant Park with her husband of 69 years, Mark. Their vacations and cruises were some of her best memories. Ceil belonged to a prayer group at Divine Mercy Catholic Church. She said a rosary daily all her life for those in need of prayers. Always a welcoming and kind person to all those she met. She always had a smile and was ready to give a hug if needed. Concern for others and their well being was important to her and she liked everyone she met. After years of devoted service she retired from Bucyrus Erie having worked in customer service in the Parts Sales Department. She was also previously employed as a teacher's assistant for special needs children. The family would like to thank the staff at Howard Village in St. Francis and Harbour House Memory Care in Greendale for their compassionate and kind care. Also, the family would like to thank Accent Care Hospice for the excellent care provided to Ceil. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14, from 10:00 am until mass at 11:00 am at: Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 800 Marquette Ave, South Milwaukee, WI.
