Carol Ann (nee Petura) Maudie, age 90, found peace on September 12, 2025. Carol was born in Milwaukee to Paul and Emma (nee Heimark) Petura on December 4, 1934. Her father built their family home in Wauwatosa. She was a proud graduate of Riverside High School.
Carol met the love of her life, Bert Maudie, at the Rooftop Ballroom. Bert had just returned from Army Service in Korea. It was love at first sight. They were married on August 21, 1953.
After raising seven children, Carol went to school for her LPN at age 40 and got her RN at age 50. She proudly worked at Trinity Memorial Hospital for 30 years where she made lasting friendships. Carol loved reading, crossword puzzles, coffee shops, theater and traveling. Carol is survived by her loving children, Mary Dean, Anna Ross, Frank (Suk) Maudie, Ed (Sharon) Maudie, Diane (Rob) Wegner and Christine (Gerald) Witherspoon, her sister Virginia Shore, cherished grandchildren, Nick (Corey) Dean, Matt (Amy) Dean, Kae Roe, Jenna (Dustin) Terry, Dylan Ross, Brian Maudie, Paige Maudie, Kendal Bauer, Jake (Kari) Wegner, Alex (Samantha) Wegner, Angela Marchese, Halle Witherspoon and great-grandchildren Dominic and Wesley Dean, Keller Coffman, Payton Bauer, Henry Bauer, Paislee Wegner, Cooper Wegner and Bo Wegner. Carol is preceded in death by her husband Bert Maudie, parents, Paul and Emma Petura, her beloved daughter Theresa Maudie, son-in-law Jeff Dean, brothers Richard, Ronald, Paul Petura and sister Marilyn DuPor.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Sacred Heart of Jesus (3635 S Kinnickinnic Ave, St. Francis) at 1 PM with Mass of Christian Burial at 2 PM. Burial to follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
