In Loving Memory of Annette Burgmeier (née Jankowski)

February 4, 1957 – June 6, 2025

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Annette "Anne" Burgmeier on Friday, June 6, 2025, surrounded by those closest to her by her side and in her heart.

Anne was born on February 4, 1957, and lived a life defined not by her work, but by her love for family and the simple joys that brought them together. She worked at Everbrite in South Milwaukee and later as a manager at Modern Maintenance, but her greatest role was as a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife.

Anne is survived by her loving husband of 19 years, Charles "Chuck" Burgmeier; her children, Aaron and Mitch Krysiak, and Nikki Burgmeier; her in-laws, Katie Krysiak, Afton Krysiak, and Chase Furubotten; her siblings, Marlise, Marilyn, James, Fred, Larry, Bill, Sandy, and Kevin; and her cherished grandchildren, Jack, Emily, Ella, Kai, Coral, and Knox.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Elenore Jankowski; her brother Kenneth and his wife Dianne Jankowski; her brother Robert Jankowski; and her nephew-in-law, Antonio Talavera.

Anne grew up in a large, loving family and carried that same nurturing spirit throughout her life. She believed in letting kids be kids—encouraging curiosity, exploration, and imagination. Whether they came home covered in mud, with a scraped knee, or with a wild animal in tow, Anne welcomed it all with a loving smile. She wanted the best for her children and supported them through their many paths. Today, Aaron is a mathematics teacher at Franklin High School, and Mitch, a former firefighter, now owns Busy Barn Farms in Fort Atkinson.

When Anne married Chuck, she found a partner as unique and joyful as she was. His daughter Nikki became a beloved part of her life, and their shared family continued to grow in love and laughter.

Anne's "grandbabies" were the true center of her world. She loved being with them—doing arts and crafts, fishing, swimming, baking, and building tiny playhouses out of empty boxes. She had a beautiful way of turning the ordinary into something magical.

Together with Chuck, Anne enjoyed gardening, traveling to Mexico, and fishing along the Mississippi River. Each fall, they brought the whole family to the Wisconsin State Fair to eat, drink, see the animals, and spoil the grandchildren.

Anne lived her life her way—with strength, love, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
