Obituary for Wayne R Fick

Passed away unexpectedly on April 9th, 2022 at the age of 86. Loving husband to Marcie for 58 years. Dear father to Brian (Eileen) Fick and Brenda (Mike) Osell. Beloved grandfather to Zack and Ally Osell. Brother to Wanda (late Allen), Lietzke, late Alyce (Clay) Gagnie and the late Larry (Jeanne) Fick. Also survived by his niece Diana Brandner and great niece Zoe Brandner, other relatives and friends. Memorial visitation at Zion Lutheran Church (3600 S.Chicago Avenue, South Milwaukee) on April 23rd from 10-11 AM with a service at 11 AM.

Wayne was a loving husband, a dedicated father and a proud grandfather. Ever involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s activities, he was their biggest fan and wasn’t afraid to share his pride with anyone who would listen. Wayne served his country as a member of the United States Army and had a 40-plus year career at Bucyrus-Erie as a machinist.

Wayne enjoyed attending Wisconsin Badger football and Bucks basketball games, while regularly following the Brewers and Packers. Little St. Germain Lake was his favorite vacation spot for decades – a wonderful place for honing his fly-fishing skills and spending time with his family.

He was famous for taking every back road throughout Wisconsin. There was no destination where he wouldn’t offer up a shortcut along the way.

Wayne was also a proud Wisconsin resident. When asked where he would live, if he could live anywhere in the world – “South Milwaukee” was his response. Wayne embodied the wisdom of Mark Twain of “never letting facts get in the way of a good story”.
