Obituary for Veleta Mae Delaney (Hendrix)

Delaney, Veleta Mae (nee Hendrix)

Veleta was born to life May 17, 1921 and peacefully passed away on August 1, 2018 at the age of 97. Veleta was welcomed into eternal life by her parents, Ethel and Robert Hendrix; siblings, Everett Muir, Robert Hendrix, and Fay Stewart; and husbands, Clarence Jodar and John Delaney. Loving mother of the late Al (Amelia) Jodar, Mark (Joan) Delaney, Vonda (Rick) Markstrom, Steven Delaney, Patricia (David) Fleming, Amy (Mike) Mulrooney, Edie (Ross) Pokora, and Brian (Mila) Delaney. Devoted grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Veleta graduated in Elementary Education from Illinois State University: Normal, IL and taught for a time in Shorewood, WI. She faithfully served her parish church, Nativity of the Lord/St. Frederick’s, Cudahy, WI, in many ways from 1960-2008.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses, care workers, cooks, and other staff at Ramsey Woods Assisted Living in Cudahy, WI and to AseraCare Hospice and Nurses for all the excellent, loving care given to Veleta.

Visitation will be held at Nativity of the Lord Parish (4611 S. Kirkwood Ave., Cudahy, WI 53110) on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 9:00AM-11:00AM with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM. Interment at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
