Obituary for Sonia McFadden
Born to Eternal Life on February 13, 2024, at the age of 88 years. Loving mother of Debbie (Manley) Anderson, Jeffrey (Kathryn) Pirtle, Patrick (Sally) McFadden, Michael (Steven Scholze) McFadden, Brian (Joan Holcomb) McFadden and Neil (Donna Petrusky) McFadden.
Proud grandmother of Anni (Matthew) Burger, Dori Kate Evanoff and Megan Pirtle, and great grandmother of Arianna Spezza, Daphne Burger and Ashton Burger.
Further survived by her lifelong best friend June Acheson, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Sonie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Wayne McFadden in February 2011. Further preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Betty (the late Russell) Tschohl, Dorothy Dixon, Charles Williams, and Ronald Williams.
Sonie was a lifelong resident of South Milwaukee and a graduate of South Milwaukee High School. She was employed by Bucyrus-Erie and Gimbels. She was a longtime, devoted member of the South Milwaukee United Methodist Church where she served as a choir member, trustee, bookkeeper and held various other volunteer roles. She was an avid quilter, sewer, crafter, painter, cook and baker.
Please join the family on March 2, 2024 at South Milwaukee United Methodist Church, 1327 Marshall Ave. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Memorial Service at 11 a.m., followed by a luncheon. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to South Milwaukee United Methodist Church or South Milwaukee Human Concerns, 1029 Milwaukee Ave.
