Obituary for Sheila M. Piaskowski

Sheila’s passing was unexpected yet peaceful on December 2nd, 2018 at the age of 70. She was a loving mother to Jeff (Jodi) and Sherry (Bill). She is survived by her loving friend Joe. Dear grandma to Jaci and Jacob and Nana to Alexa and Easton. Further survived by her brother Robert Wolke, step-siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sheila will also be greatly missed by her compassionate former colleagues at Lakeshore Medical Clinic and Aurora Healthcare. She enjoyed her employment for 16 and a half years until her retirement in 2016. Sheila is remembered as quirky and fun and always lifted the spirits of all who knew her. This time of year, Sheila would sing the tune “9.99” and that playful melody, along with wide smiles, would stick with her coworkers for days. She loved all things Christmas, but she was especially proud of her extensive snowman collection.

After retirement, Sheila spent her free time enjoying life. Hiking, biking, kayaking and baking were her fun adventures, but her truest passion was her family, her grandchildren, her loving companion Joe and volunteering for special charities that were closest to her heart (St. Joan Antida Academy).

Sheila was an independent woman who took pride in her home and community.

Sheila’s one wish was not be mourned upon her passing, but to be celebrated with the music she lived by; The Rolling Stones, Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin and so many others.

Join us won’t you in this celebration of life. Visitation and gathering at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 12th from 3 to 5 PM with a memorial service at 5 PM.
