Obituary for Neil W Newkirk

Neil “Bill” Newkirk of South Milwaukee, WI found eternal peace on September 3, 2022. He was born October 10, 1951 and was the son of the late Gordy and Florence Newkirk.

Bill is survived by his beloved, Patti and her daughter, Alyssa; sister Linda (Al); his brother, John; nieces and nephews Mike (Sheri), Wendy (Dave), Jen (Scott) and their children; Aunt Audrey; Uncle Don; cousins who loved him dearly; and close friends who were like family to him. He will also be truly missed by the Saufl family and his dog, Riley Boy.

Everyone who knew Bill felt his big heart and giving nature. He was an avid, talented golfer as well as a professional golf instructor who mentored under Manuel de la Torre. After retiring from Allen Bradley, Bill focused on exploring his love of the outdoors by vacationing with friends and visiting national parks. He also spent a lot of time locally at Grant Park and Whitnall Park. Bill enjoyed driving his ‘65 red convertible Mustang and appearing in car shows/parades throughout the years. When not golfing or traveling, Bill loved to cheer on his favorite sports teams - whether it was the Brewers, Packers, Bucks or Badgers.

The family would like to thank Dr. Laura McGartland, Katrina and Laurie for their compassionate care during Bill’s treatments. We’d also like to thank all of our families and friends for their support and prayers. They meant a lot to him and brought him to tears.

Services are being held for Bill on Friday, September 23, 2022 at Molthen-Bell & Son Funeral Home, 700 Milwaukee Ave, South Milwaukee, WI 53172. Visitation will be at 10:00AM followed by a service at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, the family will direct donations to purchase two memorial benches for Bill at Whitnall Park and Grant Park.

Bill, you will forever be in our hearts.
