Obituary for May Ann Chernetski (Schilz)

Our most precious mother, May Chernetski (nee Schilz) passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022 at the age of 98. In Gods mercy now reunited with her infant son David, 8 brothers and sisters, and her parents Joseph and Elizabeth. She is survived by her son Gary, daughters Janice and Carol (William) Generotzky. Also Granddaughters Erin, Heather and Jenna (Michael) and Great-Granddaughters Sierra, Delilah, Madison and Jayelynne. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Young May had a happy childhood in Franklin on St. Martins Rd. At the age of 18, May started her first job. She loved working with friends at Holeproof Hosiery and Gimbels downtown Milwaukee. She frequently went dancing where she met her husband Robert. We enjoyed our mother's naturally great talent for cooking. She loved to sing and we would often hear her singing in the kitchen, while shopping in stores and at the bus stops. During the summer months you could find her at music festivals across the area. She also loved drawing nature scenes with animals, playing Sheepshead, Christmastime and especially looking after her family. She will be deeply missed.
Special thanks to Gary for taking such good care of Mom when she needed it the most, also
Chad and McKenna from Moments Hospice and Shelley from Sylvan Crossings.
Visitation will be Friday, September 16th, 2022 from l 0:00-11:00 at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 800 Marquette Ave., South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. Interment at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
