Obituary for Mary J Manthei
Mary Jean Manthei (Mickelson) of South Milwaukee, WI was born to eternal life on Thursday, April 27th 2023. Mary is survived by daughter Christy (Robin) Van Hoff, son Donald (Karole) Manthei, grandchildren Sean (Fallaen) Bollis, Caylin (Dylan) Vassar, Kellie Doescher, Emily (Conner) Walbrun, Molly and Hannah Manthei, great granddaughters Quinn and Clarke Bollis, sisters Judy Johnson and Nancy Luedtke, step daughter Deb Nelson, sister in law Betty Mitchell and further survived by many more friends and family.
Mary was born on January 11th, 1943 in the town of Siegel to Morris and Gladys Mickelson. She was united in marriage on June 18th, 1966 to Donald Manthei with whom she spent 20 wonderful years. Mary enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, going up north to the trailer and spending time with her family and friends whom she loved very much.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Donald, sisters Mabel, Bonnie, Caroline, Geneva, Beverly, Ione, Joan, brother Morris, brothers in law Leonard, Bob, Gerald and sisters in law Lucille and Evelyn.
Her family would like to thank Ramsey Woods and Moments Hospice for their compassionate care. Mary was a very special woman and touched the lives of everyone she met. She was truly one of a kind and will be fondly remembered as the best mother, friend and “gramma” by her loving family and friends.
Services will be held on Monday, May 1st 2023 at All Saints Lutheran Church 9131 S Howell avenue in Oak Creek, WI. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm and service at 3:00 pm with luncheon to follow at Pats Oak Manor 1804 15th avenue in South Milwaukee, WI
