Obituary for Mary Liebsch

OAK CREEK – Mary Liebsch, 85, of Oak Creek, passed away on January 26. She was born to LaVerne and Irma Liebsch on May 27, 1938. A lifelong resident of Oak Creek, Mary graduated from South Milwaukee High School in 1956. She received a Bachelor of Science degree  in Early Childhood Development, from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1960.

Mary’s professional career was spent as a Case Worker with the Milwaukee County Division of Human Services, meeting the needs of her clients with special patience, concern and empathy. She loved Broadway musicals and was an avid fan of the Brewers and Packers. She was especially devoted to her niece and nephews, and they to her.

Mary is survived by her sister, Katherine (Robert) Besteman of Madison; niece, Kristin (Kerry) Ruedy, Savage, MN; nephews: David (Tama) Besteman, Vancouver, WA; Daniel (Brenda) Besteman, Madison; Jonathan (Gina) Besteman, Deerfield, WI. And eight great nieces and nephews.  

A celebration of Mary’s life was held at FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH in South Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s name can be made to the Milwaukee County Humane Society.
