Leslie "Les" Alphonson Hill passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 8, 2020 after suffering from a brief illness. Les was the eldest of five children born to the late Pearl Alphonson and Sarah "Susan" Frances Hill on October 7, 1949. Les was raised by his father and grandmother the late Kathryn Beatrice "Kittie B." Hill. He graduated in the class of 1968 from David Anderson High School. Les was inducted into the US Army where he served his country while stationed in Germany.
Les grew up loving to play basketball, baseball, and enjoying comedies and musicals. He went on to become an avid baseball fan; his two favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs, and the Milwaukee Brewers. His favorite past time became watching old country movies, watching college basketball, playing pool, and of course golfing with close friends.
Les was one of the kindest people you'd ever want to meet. He welcomed all people into his life as he never met a stranger. His love of people became one of his greatest strengths.
Les is survived by two sisters, Kathryn (Hill) Ellis, San Diego CA., Audrey (Hill) Cook, Loveland, CO., and a brother Gary Hill, New Boston, MI., Mother, Susan Bates, San Antonio, TX., two half-sisters, Jolana Bates, San Antonio, TX., Marie, Campbell, Marrow, GA., and half-brother, Duane Campbell, Marrow, GA. He also leaves behind seven nieces and nephews; 13 great nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his Father, Pearl Hill; Grandmother, Kittie B. Hill, Son, Kevin Walters, Sister, Michelle Hill, and Nephew Rickey Cook Jr.
Funeral arrangements have been made with Molthen-Bell Funeral Home, South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Grave site services will be held in the Lisbon Ohio cemetery with close family members. No date has been set due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
