Jon “Mark” Dorontich, 55, devoted Father and Grandfather departed our earth on Thursday, October 31st, 2019.
He is survived by his mother Kathryn Dorontich; his daughter Kelly (Roger) Lara; son Nick Allen; and his grand children Roger Jr., Sebastian, Emmett, Nick, Sophia, Brandon, Lily and Ella. Also survived by his siblings Renee (Romi) Jurca, Michael (Amy) Dorontich, and Richelle Arandjelovic. As well as many more family members and friends. Mark is preceded in death by his father Robert Dorontich.
Mark blessed this earth with his presence on October 17, 1964. He’ll always be remembered for his contagious smile, and a personality that was silly, outgoing, honest, and loving.
The pride Mark carried in being a father and grandfather was a blinding aura he couldn’t hide. Nor did he try. He never missed the opportunity to take out his phone to snap a picture or show you a photo of his grandchildren and family. To Mark, every moment mattered.
He loved attending events, birthday parties, sports/game events, and outings. He lived in the Chicago area most of his life, so after moving to Milwaukee he found friends and comfort within the Deaf Community. He was a proud member and trustee for the GMAD (Greater Milwaukee Association of the Deaf).
If being a sports fan was a job then Mark would have been the most successful business man. His love for the Chicago Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, and Alabama Crimson Tide was and will remain unmatched. Whether his team was winning or losing he’d watch until the end. It goes without saying that he deserved a spot on on the roster as Most loyal fan.
Mark’s day to day wasn’t just split between sharing his love for his family, friends, and sport teams. He woke up to put in the hours at his job, at A&W restaurant, where his dedication and personality left a landmark. Co-workers and customers knew him beyond just the traditional acquaintances. Some saw Mark as more, they saw Mark as a friend and as family.
Please join us to remember Mark and celebrate his life on Friday, November 8 at the funeral home from 12 to 1 PM with a service at 1 PM. Bring all the memories you have of him and share it with us. The family asks that you wear any sportswear of Mark's favorite teams on Friday. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are appreciated.
