Helen J. Wozniak (nee Peterson)
Embraced by God on January 6, 2022 at the age of 98. Preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Leonard. Mother of Mary, Joe (Sue), Jim (Debbie), Terra Ann Rosenblatt, Cari (Jon) Griffiths, John (Kati), Jeff (Judy). Fondly remembered by her 11 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters, many nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister Carol Dabbah of WA and brother-in-law Jerry Taillon of CA.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank caregivers, Pam, Bayaraa, and Loretta, who provided 15 years of care, friendship, and love to both Len and Helen.
Helen and Len met while working at Louis Allis, and were married at Sacred Heart of Jesus in St. Francis in August 1950. In addition to being a busy mom with 7 kids, she also was in CWA, church choir, and teaching ESL at Laubach Literacy. Helen was also known for her baking talents, winning a State Fair Blue Ribbon for her apple pie baked in a paper bag in 1978.
Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus 3635 S. KK in St. Francis Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 10am until the mass of Christian Burial at 11am.
Memorials appreciated to Sacred Heart of Jesus, Relevant Radio, or Fr. Gene’s Help Center.
A celebration of Helen's life is also being scheduled for the spring.
